SEO and FAQs for a post

FREEPROBUSINESSWHITE-LABEL

The post editor has three tabs: Content, SEO and FAQ. The last two are optional: a post without them still works well.

SEO tab

The SEO tab of the post editor: Meta title and description with character counters, and Hide from search engines.123
  1. The title search results show (under 60 characters).
  2. The line of text under it (under 160 characters).
  3. Keep this post out of search results.
  • Meta title is the title shown in search results and on the browser tab. Leave it empty and the post's title is used. Keep it under 60 characters; the counter turns red above that.
  • Meta description is the line of text under the title in search results. Leave it empty and search engines pick a sentence from the post themselves. Keep it under 160 characters.
  • Hide from search engines (noindex) keeps the post out of Google and other search results, and out of your sitemap. It stays visible to anyone with the link. Useful for an old seasonal post, a test, or a thank-you page.

Tip: Write the meta description for a person deciding whether to click: what will they get from this post?

FAQ tab

Add questions and answers about the post's subject: press + Add FAQ, type the Question and the Answer, and save. Remove deletes one.

The questions and answers are shown at the end of the post, and marked up so search engines and AI answer tools can read and quote them. Plain sentences work best; no formatting is needed.

Tip: Use the questions your customers really ask you. "Can I buy your starter?" is more useful than "What is sourdough?".
