White-label branding
WHITE-LABELBuilding blogs for clients? White-label branding puts your own name and logo in the admin panel, and hides the places that point to DonkeyCMS. Your clients see your product. It comes with Business white-label licenses, which an order of 5 or more one-time Business licenses includes.
It is on License & Updates in the menu on the left, in the White-label branding section. Only a Master account sees this page.
12- Replaces DonkeyCMS in the sidebar.
- Nothing changes until you save.
Set it up
- Type your Product name, for example "Acme Agency CMS". It replaces "DonkeyCMS" in the admin sidebar.
- Add a Logo (light mode) and a Logo (dark mode): upload one, drag it onto the box, or Choose from Library. The dark one is used when the admin panel is in dark mode.
- Press Save.
Use a square icon, 512 × 512 px, PNG with a transparent background. The sidebar shows the logo as a small square next to your product name, so a wide logo with text would look tiny. If an image is not square, a warning tells you.
Any one of the three is enough to switch white-label on: a name, or a logo.
Before you upload a logo
With a Business white-label license, DonkeyCMS never shows its own logo in the admin, even before you set anything up. Until you upload your logo, a Your brand here placeholder stands in its place, and the sidebar name reads Your brand. Your logo and product name replace them as soon as you save.
What changes for your clients
- The sign-in pages (sign in, forgot password, reset password, accepting an invitation) show your logo.
- The browser tab shows your product name on every admin page (on all of them since DonkeyCMS 1.03).
- The sidebar and the Import page show your logo and product name.
- The line at the bottom of the sign-in pages and the dashboard shows only your product name and version, with no DonkeyCMS copyright.
- Docs in the account menu is hidden, because it opens the DonkeyCMS guides.
- What's new and the bell at the top that opens it, billing links, See plans and other links to donkeycms.com are hidden.
- The plan shows as Active instead of its name, and the license key is shown masked.
- The update screen says Updating instead of "Updating DonkeyCMS".
Your blog's visitors see no difference: the public blog never names DonkeyCMS on a paid plan.
The emails your blog sends (password resets, invitations, review results) never name DonkeyCMS either. They are sent under the name you set in Settings → Email, or your site's name.
Tip: With Docs hidden, your own team can always find these guides at donkeycms.com/docs.
Change or remove it
Change the fields and press Save again. To switch white-label off, empty the product name, delete both logos with Delete image, and save. Docs, What's new and the other DonkeyCMS links come back; the sign-in page and sidebar keep the Your brand here placeholder.
Note: While white-label is on, saving an empty license key does nothing, so a client cannot remove the key by accident. To take the key off a site, switch white-label off first.
