Colors and layout
FREEPROBUSINESSWHITE-LABELEverything about how your blog looks is on Settings → Customizations. It is split into four boxes; click a box's title to open or close it. Changes show on the blog after you press Save changes.
These settings change the public blog only. Your admin panel keeps its own look.
Layout & Structure
- Post layout (Pro plan): how posts are listed on the blog's homepage. Card shows a grid of cards, Full width a stacked list.
- Page Width (Pro plan): Boxed keeps the blog at a comfortable width in the middle of the screen; Full Width stretches it across the whole screen.
- Card Size (Pro plan): Compact cards are smaller, Spacious ones bigger. With Boxed page width that means 3 or 2 cards in a row; with Full Width, as many as fit.
- Corner Style (Pro plan): Rounded or Sharp corners for cards, images, buttons and comments.
- Content Top Spacing (px): the space above the blog content. If your site's menu stays fixed at the top of the screen and covers the start of the blog, make this number bigger.
- Posts per page: 6, 12 or 18 posts on the blog's homepage before the page numbers start.
Appearance & Typography
123- Light, Dark, Auto or Sync with page.
- Fonts, sizes and line width.
- Your three colors.
Mode sets whether the blog is light or dark:
- Light or Dark: always that.
- Auto: follows each visitor's own device setting.
- Sync with page (Pro plan): follows your website's own light/dark switch, if it has one. It recognizes the most common ways websites do this; if yours is not recognized, the blog simply stays light.
Typography (Pro plan) sets the fonts and their sizes:
- Font - Title and Font - Body: pick one of seven fonts, or Website Default to use whatever font your website already uses. The fonts are stored on your own hosting, so no visitor information goes to Google or anyone else.
- Heading size and Body size: Small, Medium or Large.
- Body font weight: how bold normal text looks. Bold words in your posts stay bold.
- Article width: how long the lines of text in a post are. Shorter lines are easier to read.
The three colors (Pro plan):
- Primary Color: buttons, links and "Read more".
- Secondary Color: the color of those links when the mouse is over them.
- Box Color: the background of post cards and other boxes. Auto follows Mode. The text on top changes to dark or light by itself, so it stays readable.
Reset to Default puts the three colors back. Press Save changes afterwards.
Tip: Use your logo's main color as the Primary Color and a darker shade of it as the Secondary Color. The blog will feel like part of your site straight away.
Homepage Content
Homepage Title & Subtitle puts a heading above the list of posts on the blog's homepage, for example "Our Blog" and "News, tips and updates from our team". Choose left, center or right alignment. Leave both empty for no heading.
Latest posts on your website's homepage
Turn on Recent Posts Widget to show your 3 newest posts anywhere on your main website, for example on its homepage.
- Switch it On and, if you like, fill in Title and Subtitle for the section and choose its Alignment.
- Optionally match your website's look: Heading font (for example
"Ovo", serif) and Heading size. - Press Save changes.
- Copy the line of code under Your embed code and paste it into your page's HTML, where you want the posts to appear (inside
<body>).
The line is PHP, so the page you paste it into must end in .php, the same way as the pages you connected with Frame Setup. If your website is not at the top level of your hosting account, change the path in the line to match.
If the blog is ever being updated or switched off, the section is simply left out; your homepage keeps working.
More posts, or a slider (Pro plan)
On Pro and up, three more rows appear under the widget's switch:
- Posts to show: 3, 6 or 9 of your newest posts.
- Layout: Grid shows the posts in rows of three. Slider shows one row with round arrows on both sides; visitors click the arrows, or swipe on a phone. The slider needs 6 or 9 posts, so with 3 it is grayed out.
- Slide by: how far one click moves on a computer, 1 post or 3 posts. On a phone the slider always moves one post at a time, and starts again from the first after the last.
If your blog has 3 posts or fewer, the widget shows a grid, since there is nothing to slide to.
Features
- Social share buttons (Pro plan): Facebook, X, WhatsApp, Telegram and copy-link icons at the end of every post.
- Random post recommendations (Pro plan): two other posts, picked at random, at the end of each post, to keep visitors reading.
- Default "Post as [user]": whether new posts show the writer's name. Each post can still change it.
- Image Optimizer: saves uploads as WebP. On the Pro plan and above it has a quality slider. See Images.
