Rent it or keep it?
Monthly is the gentle way in: the lowest start, cancel any time, and your blog falls back to the Free plan if you stop. A one-time license is the keep-it-forever option. It never expires and includes a year of updates. If you were already leaning toward one-time, a discount with a ghost behind it is a fine excuse.
Buying for clients?
It works on bigger orders too. If you buy several one-time licenses, the 15% beats the usual volume discounts of 5% and 10%, so you get the bigger saving and never both. An order of 5 or more Business licenses still comes as Business white-label.
The small print, in a normal voice
The 15% comes off your first payment, and monthly plans go back to the normal price after that. It doesn't apply to update renewals. When Sunday 1 November is over the offer disappears, much like the donkey did.
